The fifth event of the Philosophical Problems Workshop was held.

The Philosophical Problems Workshop V, organized by Prof. Dr. Aslı YAZICI with students from the Faculty of Letters, Sociology, and Health Sciences, Department of Social Service, took place on Wednesday, May 22. The event was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Orhan UZUN, and our Dean, Prof. Dr. Birgül KOÇAK OKSEV. The students showcased their work, presenting philosophical problems and seeking solutions through prepared posters, which garnered significant interest. The workshop began with a ceremony featuring our Dean, Prof. Dr. Birgül KOÇAK OKSEV. Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan UZUN also participated in the event, engaging with students by listening to their presentations and asking questions. The workshop provided an interdisciplinary opportunity for collaboration, attracting students and academics from various departments. Students discussed numerous philosophical issues through their poster presentations, including environmental ethics, professional ethics, political philosophy, ontology, epistemology, and science. The core topics analyzed were fundamental human rights, equality, justice, gender equality, peace, and sustainable development. One poster presentation focused on business ethics, highlighting the importance of a decent work environment, safe and stable working conditions, and the fundamental ethical dilemmas faced in the business world. Another poster questioned the source and limits of knowledge, addressing an essential issue in the history of philosophy. Presentations discussing the problem of induction in science facilitated engagement with key debates in the philosophy of science. Through discussions centered on humanity's place in the universe, the presentations emphasized the essential balance between consumption and production for achieving sustainability. It was noted that sustainable development requires responsible practices in both production and consumption, alongside discussions on climate issues. The necessity of reducing inequalities and ensuring gender equality was underscored through feminist perspectives. In health ethics, discussions revolved around what must be done to ensure the conditions for a healthy and quality life, including combating hunger and providing access to clean, sanitary water for all people worldwide. A poster presentation inviting discussion on a state's ideal structure emphasized the importance of fostering a just and peaceful society. We extend our gratitude to the students who presented their posters at the workshop, which was well-received by visitors for their valuable contributions.
