Process of Education
Bartın University Faculty of Literature Department of Philosophy is a 4-year department consisting of 8 semesters. All classes take compulsory courses, electives and vocational courses. Compulsory courses to be taken for four years; It offers a wide range of philosophy, including the history of philosophy, the basic disciplines of philosophy and their relationship.
With compulsory courses, students are provided with basic information about the field, and with elective courses, students can access deep knowledge in the fields they desire.
Students of our department take courses in fields such as metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, logic, political philosophy, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind and philosophy of science. Under favour of these courses that complement each other, our students complete the undergraduate program with a well-equipped knowledge in philosophy. In addition, sociology, psychology and logic courses required for our students to be appointed as teachers are also given in our department.
Business Opportunities
Graduates of the Department of Philosophy in our country can be appointed as teachers to secondary education institutions by taking formation education in addition to being an academician. Also they can find employment opportunities in various public and private institutions in education, culture, human relations, planning and evaluation units, advertising sector and media organizations.
Our Goals
The aim of the Philosophy Department is to teach systematic and critical thinking. Therefore, our goal is to provide students with a multidimensional thinking skills, to teach them to analyze a subject critically and in depth, and to present general knowledge that will help them do their job in the best way. Our graduates have a key role in the dissemination of knowledge and science, as the enlightened segments of the society and the individuals who enlighten the society.
