Orientation Event for the Fall 2025 Academic Year.

The Orientation Training for the Fall Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year was held on September 17, 2025. The event began with a speech by Prof. Dr. Aslı Yazıcı, Head of the Philosophy Department. Prof. Dr. Yazıcı congratulated the students, warmly welcomed the new students joining the Philosophy Department family, and conveyed her best wishes for their success. At the beginning of the meeting, a brief introduction was held between the department faculty and students. An orientation presentation by Research Assistant Dr. Öner Güler followed this. The presentation shared information about the establishment, mission, vision, management structure, and campuses of Bartın University. After mentioning the departments in our faculty, the establishment process, student numbers, and graduate programs of the Philosophy Department were introduced. Students were reminded of the importance of regularly following the department's website. Information about the student counseling system was also provided. The Erasmus exchange program was introduced during the presentation, and information was given about the application process and the opportunities offered by this program. The meaning of double major and minor programs was explained, and it was emphasized that taking advantage of these opportunities is essential for students' personal and academic development. Information was provided about the job opportunities available to department graduates. Bartın University's Associate Degree and Bachelor's Degree Education, Teaching, and Examination Regulations were summarized for students; the ÜBYS system was introduced, and information about its use was provided. Our university's library, cafeteria, and sports facilities were introduced. Activities carried out by the Philosophy Club, one of the student clubs under the Directorate of Health, Culture, and Sports, in previous years were shared. It was stated that the participation of our new students in this club would be welcomed. The RİMER and Contact Us links, where students can submit their suggestions, requests, and complaints, were introduced, emphasizing that the university and the department are always accessible. The importance of participating in surveys conducted by the university and the department was reiterated. The orientation training ended with informative presentations on Combating Addiction. Students were provided with information on tobacco, alcohol, and substance addiction and warned about the harms of such addictions and ways to combat them.
The training concluded with the hope that the new academic year would be productive and successful for all our students and faculty members.

  • Assist. Prof. Tayebeh Beheshti presented at the thirteenth Session of Philosophy Talks.
